Ástrós Þorsteinsdóttir, born and raised in Reykjavík, spent most of her adult life in Stykkishólmur; the most beautiful seaside town in Iceland. Ástrós developed her artist skills inspired by the magnificent glacier Snæfellsjökull.

Ástrós has participated in various seminars and courses in the art of ceramic and porcelain. In 2001-2003 she joined professional workshop with the Serbian ceramic artist Svetlana Matusa.

Ástrós has held several exhibitions.

The artist now lives in Reykjavik again.

Ástrós is most recognized for her unique figurative feminine sculptures.
