Charlotta S. Sverrisdóttir

A Color Symphony From Another World

Charlotta Soffía Sverrisdóttir was born in Reykjavík in the year 1950 and grew up there. She graduated as a teacher in 1971.  Charlotta has worked as a teacher for 20 years and has completed many art seminars.

During the winter 2000-2001 she was a full time student in Fine Arts, i.e. watercolor, oil painting, drawing, portrait, model drawing and art history in the Long Beach City Collage in California. She graduated with the highest score or: "Dean's high honor student". Charlotta was greatly influence by the atmosphere and joy of color in California. This is particularly evident in the strong colors she is drawn to and uses a great deal in her works.

Charlotta has taken part in a cooperative exhibition in Huntington Beach Art Center in Huntington Beach, California, in the spring of 2001 and has done two private exhibitions in Reykjavik.

"I keep on improving my studies, because life is a learning experience", says Charlotta.
